NEW BEGINNERS’ 6 WEEK COURSES

The course fee of £35 per person must be paid on or before the start date of the course. Any person joining the course after that date will be charged the full rate. No refunds or concessions can be given for missed classes

MOTHER’S DAY SPECIAL OFFER, March 2025.

The ‘one month pass’ is valid from 1st April to 30th April 2025. After this date, the pass is null and void. The pass will allow the holder, on presentation of the pass, access to any class of their choice that is timetabled and active on condition that the holder has pre-booked the class and there is availability on the chosen day. The Dance School reserves the right to refuse admission to the school to any person or persons. The Dance School reserves the right to offer an alternative class should the chosen class be full or not available on the advertised day.

The holder of the pass is permitted to bring with them a friend/partner on condition that they are booked onto the class in advance. No charge will be made to the guest on presention of the Pass by the holder.

One 2 One lessons are by appointment only. Appointment for private lessons must be made and attended on or before the 31st July, 2025. After this date, the voucher will be void. The vouchers can not be exchanged for cash or classes.

If your voucher is lost, stolen or damaged, please contact the dance school with proof of purchase and date of issue.

Refunds can not be given for gift vouchers, one 2 one private lessons or passes purchased.

The Dance School reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time.

ADULT CLASSES

The fee for each class is payable before the class commences. Bank transfer must be made within one hour of the completion of the class.

Evening classes that are held on a Monday 8 til 9pm, Tuesday 7pm til 8pm and 8pm til 9pm are pre-paid classes and advanced payment is required at the beginning of each month. The payment for each class is £27 per person per class. No refunds or concessions can be given for missed classes.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lesson fees are payable by cash or card when the lesson is completed or by BACS within one hour of the end of the lesson.

Cancellations must be within a 24 hour period or full payment will be required. Regular cancellations of lessons will result in a deposit being charged in advance of any further lessons, at the time of the booking.

In the case of student illness or genuine emergency we appreciate your commitment to honouring lesson payment.

In the event of instructor illness, a replacement instructor will be provided whenever possible.

PRE PAID CLASSSES, MONTHLY CLASSES AND COURSES

All adult and children classes, monthly classes and courses, including block bookings of wedding dances and private lessons must be paid in full, in cash or by card or by bank transfer on or before the start date of the course or first class. Unfortunately, refunds cannot be given nor refunds or concessions given for any absences or classes missed.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Gift vouchers may be purchased from the dance school for private lessons, wedding dance courses, dance classes, fitsteps.

The vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash. Gift vouchers may not be resold. Gift vouchers may not be used to purchase other gift vouchers. All vouchers must be redeemed within 12 months of the purchase date or the date specified on the voucher. This includes complementary vouchers and prizes.

If your voucher is lost, stolen or damaged, please contact the dance school with proof of purchase and date of issue.

Refunds can not be given for gift vouchers purchased.

Assumption of Risk/Liability Waiver

  • Physical Fitness & Health: Participation in dance classes involves physical activity that may carry a risk of injury. By enrolling in and attending classes at this dance school, students acknowledge and accept these inherent risks. While every effort is made to provide a safe environment, including proper instruction, supervision, and suitable facilities, The Dance School, its instructors, and staff cannot guarantee the prevention of injuries. Participants understand that dance movements may involve stretching, jumping, turning and other physical exertions that can result in strains, sprains or other injuries.

Students are responsible for:

  • Ensuring they are physically fit to participate in dance activities
  • Informing instructors of any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries
  • Following all safety instructions and guidelines provided by staff
  • using appropriate footwear and attire

The Dance School is not liable for any injuries sustained during classes, rehersals, performances or while on the premises, except where required by law.

By participating, you agree to assume full responsibility for any risk of injury and release The Dance School, its instructors, and staff from any claims, demands, or causes of action arising from participation.

If you are unsure about your physical ability to take part in dance activities, please consult a qualified medical professional before participating.

Participants confirm they are physically fit to dance and have not been advised otherwise by a physician. Participants agree to inform instructors of any health conditions or pain immediately. Students must inform instructors if they are unable to undertake any movements during dance.  All information will be held in confidence. It is the responsibility of the student to ensure that they are prepared to dance on arrival at class and that they have taken relevant precautions to warm up prior to start of class. 

  • Safety & Compliance: Participants agree to follow all safety guidelines, instructions, and rules provided, with failure to do so possibly leading to removal. Students must comply with risk assessments, safety guidelines and procedures set down by the individual Halls hired by The Dance School where classes take place. This also applies to use of car parks. Cars are parked at the discretion of the students and The Dance School can accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to cars or their contents.
  • Use of Hired Hall Disclaimer: Dance classes, rehearsals, and events may take place in hired or third-party venues. While The Dance School takes reasonable steps to select suitable locations, it does not own or control these premises and therefore cannot guarantee the condition, maintenance, or safety of the facilities at all times. By attending activities held in hired halls, students (and parents/guardians, where applicable) acknowledge that they enter and use these premises at their own risk. The Dance School is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury arising from the condition of the venue, its equipment, or any actions of third parties associated with the premises, except where required by law
  • Participants agree to:
  • Follow all venue rules, policies, and safety guidelines
  • Take reasonable care of personal belongings, as The Dance School is not liable for loss or theft
  • Report any hazards or concerns to a staff member as soon as possible.

The Dance School will make reasonable efforts to ensure a safe environment; however, ultimate responsibility for venue management remains with the hall owner or operator.

  • Photo/Video Release: Consent for The Dance School to use images or videos of students for promotional purposes on websites and social media. If you do not wish this to apply, it is your responsibility to inform the Principal.
  • Online/Home Learning: Online dance lessons or home practice are done at the student’s own risk, including performing in a safe, clear environment, and dancing within your own personal limitations.
  • Spotting Policy: Dance instruction may involve occasional physical contact between instructors and students. This contact is strictly professional. Permission for instructors to physically spot (touch to assist) students during dancing in close hold, to ensure proper positioning, alignment, or support balance and safety during routines. By participating in classes, students (and parents/guardians where necessary) acknowledge and consent to such appropriate and limited physical contact as part of dance training. All contact will be conducted respectfully, with the student’s safety, comfort, and well being as the priority. Students are encouraged to communicate any discomfort or concerns at any time. The Dance School is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive environment. If a student prefers not to receive physical guidance, they should inform the instructor in advance, and reasonable accommodations will be made where possible.
  • Zero Tolerance: The Dance School takes safety, discipline and professionalism very seriously. The Dance School has strict, non-negotiable rules regarding the use of WatSapp group chats, sharing of personal phone numbers, use of social media and total respect of tutors, volunteers, staff and other students, parents and guardians. Violations of these rules leads to immediate consequences. (please refer to our policy )
  • The Dance School will not tolerate bullying or harassment
  • Disrespect toward teachers or other students
  • Violence or unsafe behaviour
  • Substance use ( alcohol/drugs)
  • Inappropriate conduct
  • The Dance School has a no smoking or vaping policy.
  • Data Protection / Music Licence / Public Liability, Professional Indemnity Insurance/ Safeguarding/DBS Certificates/Relevant Qualifications: All information is available on our website www.the-dance-school.co.uk  Our certificates will be provided for examination on request.
